Tell the City that wetlands matter!
The City of San Diego has a chance to restore habitat for wildlife, protect our communities from climate change, create cleaner water for all of Mission Bay, and give San Diegans a chance to play in nature in our own backyard. On November 7th, the City is releasing their designs for how to revitalize De Anza Point. This is our community’s chance to provide input on the City’s plans and help shape the future of San Diego’s coastline.
But they need to know we care. Join us and make your voice heard.
De Anza Revitalization Plan Community Meeting

The City’s De Anza Revitalization Plan covers part of ReWild Mission Bay’s study area. How the City chooses to “revitalize” De Anza Point impacts how we can restore the vital wetlands ReWild is trying to protect. At this November 7th meeting, City planners are releasing their draft plans the area.
If you’ve been following the ReWild Mission Bay process for some time, you know we have held three community workshops over the past year- sharing information about what Mission Bay once looked like, discussing existing conditions, and gathering input about how we can restore a small piece of the once-vast wetlands that provide our communities with access to nature. We shared all of that information with the City planners running the De Anza project.
Now we need to see if they listened.
We need them to know our community cares about restoring wetlands as part of this revitalization- not only to provide space for wildlife, but for all the services wetlands provide (cleaner water, a buffer against rising sea levels, and more).
