This Month Is Marsh Madness!

Join us to improve the city’s plan March 14th

As spring arrives, we need a full-court press to ReWild Mission Bay. After years of moving through committees and demanding Wildest wetlands in Mission Bay, we are moving closer to a restored wetland reality. Last month, the Environmental Committee put wetland restoration in Mission Bay into their 2024 Work Plan. Now, our focus is on the critical review of the De Anza Natural Plan at this month’s Environment Committee meeting, on March 14th. This meeting is key to ensuring the plan meets our ambitious restoration goals. It’s the fourth quarter–time to rally to ensure our voices lead to impactful improvements in the plan before it moves on to City Council.

Your Action Needed Now More Than Ever

The Environmental Committee’s upcoming review of the De Anza Natural Plan on March 14th is not just another meeting—it’s our critical moment to influence the future of Mission Bay’s wetlands. This is where we need every supporter to step forward. Our goals for soft shorelines, rapid restoration timelines, and achieving the wildest acreage are within reach, but only if we make our voices heard loud and clear.

Stand With Us

This meeting is possibly our last opportunity to secure the changes we’ve been fighting for. It’s imperative that we come together as a community to show the Environmental Committee the depth of our commitment to these goals. If you’ve never contacted a Councilmember before, check out our draft email here, to become a wetland advocate in 5 minutes or less!

Here’s How You Can Help:

  • Attend the Meeting: Show up at 1PM on March 14th at the council chambers. Your presence will send a strong message about the community’s support for ambitious wetland restoration.
  • Voice Your Support: Prepare to tell the Committee what needs to be improved in the De Anza Natural Plan. Personal stories and statements on why these changes matter will have a profound impact.
  • Spread the Word: Encourage friends, family, and fellow supporters to join us. The more voices in support, the louder our call for action will be.

For the Future of Our Wetlands,

The time for action is now. Together, we can steer the course of the De Anza Natural Plan towards a future that reflects our shared vision for a restored, vibrant, and resilient Mission Bay. Let’s make March 14th a day of impactful advocacy for the wetlands we cherish.
